Installing Kolab2 on "Sarge"

The gcc was installed: I compiled the kernel and KDE on this machine!
But I did a "apt-get install gcc" again! The machine didn't download any 
packages from the net, but it reconfigered the gcc package and now........
it works!!!! Very strange!!
