Yes, this is another step in the right direction.
Another improvement would be to have folder options
about 
	manual sync [x]
	sync when starting kmail only [x]
	automatic sync every
		global minutes setting
		minutes: xx

Thus somebody could avoid that some rarely used folders
are synced to often.
