I'm in the same boat. I have an XDMCP terminal server running KDE 3.2 on Gentoo. Thankfully I have only one server to worry about, and I am on gentoo so compilation is not much of a worry. But the Kontact client for kde 3.2 doesn't correctly use all the features of Kolab and it is a REAL pain to set up for 50 users.
