Do you envision 1 particular method for a port, or do you not care?

As far as I can determine there are at least 2 possible methods (described in 
previous emails to this list):

1) a method that determines the settings during runtime (e.g. 
using /etc/kolab.rc)

2) a method that makes/builds the settings using some sort of configure 
script.
