I have had Kolab up and running successfully, and I was wondering what folks
are using for a client.
I have tried a couple and wanted to post some opinions and get some feedback.
Thus far, I have tried
KMail:
Pros
o Very nice GPG integration (though I'm still trying to make heads or tails
of the crypto plugins)
o Nice interface
Cons
o Manual filter application is making me crazy.
o Doesn't handle spam very gracefully (I'm using Ian's HOWTO) yet. I'm still
working this issue. Spamassassin works, but I haven't yet found a way to
filter.
o Filtering is pretty basic. Filter on to/from/subject/mailing list
o Cannot create folders on the IMAP server.
Aethera:
Pros
o Very nice interface.
o Summary includes weather plugin.
o Fairly intuitive Kolab integration
Cons
o No kind of crypto plugins, that I have yet found.
o Filtering still pretty basic, to/from/cc/to+cc/body. Getting better, but if
you want to filter on spam headers, it gets more difficult.
o Will not create folders on the IMAP server.
Just out of curiosity, what is everyone else using? Is there a mail client
that addresses some if these issues? If not, what workarounds are you all
using?
TIA,
