Turns out Gentoo has all the required files, they are called:

docbook2html, docbook2ps, docbook2pdf

Now I am getting the following errors:

head: `-1' option is obsolete; use `-n 1' since this will be removed in the future
Using catalogs: /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook-3.0.cat
Using stylesheet: /usr/share/sgml/docbook/utils-0.6.12/docbook-utils.dsl#print
Working on: /home/stephanb/store/kolabserver/kolabcvs/doc/kolab-formats/kolabformat.sgml
jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/utils-0.6.12/docbook-utils.dsl:13:97:W: cannot generate system identifier for public text "-//Norman Walsh//DOCUMENT DocBook Print Stylesheet//EN"
jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/utils-0.6.12/docbook-utils.dsl:19:39:E: no style-specification or external-specification with ID "DOCBOOK"
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.4.5)
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
make: *** [kolabformat.ps] Error 9

Any ideas?
