Thanks Jeroen, unsetting kolab_user_filter resolved the issue for me.

Manel, kolab lm shows for me (after creating a user in the kolab webadmin):

user/timotheus.pokorra/Journal at servers.jiffybox.net

I am able to connect to kolab webadmin with "cn=Directory Manager"
