There is some wisdom to that.

At the same time, we want to enable people to experiment and try different 
paths. And while Syncroton promises quite a bit for the future, Z-Push works 
right now. So normally I would not give it up too fast. Simulaneously I can of 
course not force to you keep working on it. As long as we find good ways to 
keep existing customers supported together, everything is fine.

But of course you're welcome to join the Syncroton team, and in fact for that 
it would have been great if you could make it to the sprint in Berlin, because 
Lars Kneschke, the original author of Syncroton will be there.

Either way we want to make sure that both ActiveSync stacks can act as a drop 
in replacement for each other, so we want to coordinate the configuration and 
metadata storage to the maximum extent possible.

For that it would be great if you could at least help Alec understand how the 
current mechanisms work, exactly, and work with him to extend them (if 
necessary) in compatible ways.
