This will be a fix applied to Cyrus IMAP 2.3 specifically, BTW;

Cyrus IMAP 2.3 attempts to open the database with every new connection / 
authentication attempt. I recommend applying the fix I created to ignore the 
fact the user_deny.db file does not exist[1]. We do currently not have this 
issue with the native packages, as far as I'm aware.

Cyrus IMAP 2.4 will attempt to open the database only once at the start of a 
new child process, reducing the number of IOERROR messages. They will continue 
to exist up and until the current master branch of cyrus-imapd.git, targeting 
release 2.5 though.
