That is the basis, yes.

It sounds like you want to install Horde outside of the OpenPKG server  
(or for a native port of the Kolab server). This is still problematic  
with the current Horde version.

To give you some background: When I started developing on getting  
Horde to work together with Kolab I was bound to keep backwards  
compatibility within Horde3 (which is the basis for the 1.2.0  
horde-webmail release). And then there were some larger patches which  
I simply couldn't get into Horde the way they were written. Hence the  
result was the patched Horde variant you know from the Kolab server.

Looking at the past four years I have to admit that while this worked  
in some ways it also created many problems.

Now with Horde4 being in preparation I have the chance of rectifying  
some of the problems. I will attempt to get Horde4 to work with the  
Kolab server patch free.

The kolab-webclient package from the Kolab server. It contains all the  
required patches.

No. You need to check the "default" branch of our hg repository. The  
kolab-webclient package has been splitted into many sub-packages  
there. So the approach is already somewhat better. It will look  
similar for Horde4.

And I already got positive feedback concerning those packages.
