Those kind of files (functional interface specification) are not
copyrightable under the US law (Don't know under the german law). This
is probably better to remove those copyright statements (approved by
the authors) and replace it with an authors list (public domain?).

The "(c)" doesn't have any power, it should be replaced by "Copyright" or "©".
