New submission from Bernhard Herzog <bh at intevation.de>:
Kontact version enterprise35 20090313.938853: when sending an email and no
encryption or signature has been requested, Kontact does some crypto-backend
operations (gpgsm, dirmngr, gpg-agent) when the email is sent. Automatic
signing of messages has been disabled in the settings dialog
("E-Mail/Security/Composing/Automatically sign messages" is not checked).
Why does it do this? A problem with this is that in some cases this unexpectedly
blocks Kontact completely, e.g. in the situation described in this gnupg issues:
https://bugs.g10code.com/gnupg/issue999 . One would think that as a workaround,
not doing any crypto-operations would avoid such lockups, but since Kontact
seems to always do some crypto-operations when sending email that doesn't work.
