I've recently done some experimenting with kontact enterprise35/kpilot and
synching with my Palm Tungsten E2. I noticed that - contrary to proko2 - the new
kontact does not switch to offline mode while synching with the PDA. I've tried
synchs in this mode for a couple of times and observed the following:

- Seemingly, kontact/korganizer tries to update the events on the server several
times during the synch. This seems to result in a heavy performance penalty -
the synchs take unusally long and the status meter at the bottom of the kontact
window is continually busy.
- Also, I came across tons of "conflict" pop-ups in each synch, which is
extremely annoying
- The very first time I synched after switching from proko2 to enterprise35, I
even lost a couple of events.

Based on those experiences, I decided to try a different approach:
1) Before synching, I switch Kontact to offline mode
2) Synch with PDA
3) Switch Kontact back to online, then initiate a synch with the server

So far, that has worked *a lot* better - the synchs are much faster and I have
yet to see my first "conflict" pop-up.

Hence, my conclusion: The enterprise35 kontact should switch to offline (just
like proko2 did) when synching with a Palm.

As for versions: I'm basically following the Debian unstable packages from
Kolab, but rebuilding them for Kubuntu 8.04. Currently, I'm on 837785.
