I guess my basic idea of "plugins" differs. A core system providing a
plugin framework to me should allow two things:

 1) Easy creation of extension packages for a core system 

 2) Easy download and automatic installation of these extensions on
    the user side.

I couldn't see how the suggestions help with either of these points
which is why I didn't consider them to be good suggestions.
