Hi!

The Kolab2/Gentoo project is concerned with porting the Kolab2/OpenPKG
variant of the Kolab-Server into a native Gentoo environment. It has
provided an installable Kolab-Server version for the past one and a
half years and is being used in productive environments.

The project has now been turned into an official Gentoo project with
the specific goal of adding the Kolab-Server packages as a standard
part into the Gentoo distribution.

The project page can be found at:

 http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/kolab/

This is of course a long term goal. Currently the Kolab Server cannot
really cope with the dynamic packaging system provided by Gentoo and
it is expected that full integration will still require another two
years.

The conversion into a Gentoo project adds some additional publicity
and allows to offer the project over the official Gentoo sites.

The overlay with the Kolab2/Gentoo packages has now moved to the
following location:

 http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/kolab

Anyone that used the older "kolab2" overlay is requested to switch to
the new overlay running:

 layman -d kolab2
 layman -a kolab

In addition the location for bug reports changes again. The
appropriate location for bug reports on an overlay is
http://bugs.gentoo.org. Please make sure that the bug summary starts
with "[kolab overlay]" when you submit bugs concerning the
Kolab2/Gentoo project.

Cheers,

Gunnar
