Here we go. Find attached the ruby script and a very short README.
It's not perfect yet and I have some ideas at hand about how to improve it. So 
feedback is welcome, perhaps I will publish an improved version soon.

To show the events which would be purged, call the script like this:

ruby -Ku event-cleaner.rb -s <server> -u <user> -p <secret> -m INBOX/Calendar -k 180 2>clean.log

You get a quick overview on stdout, more detailed information is
on stderr which can be piped into a log file.
Use the -d option to really delete the outdated eevents.
