No. I think you get him wrong. He wants to have the current logs in one dir
like /kolab/var/log/. At the end of each day he wants to rotate and archive
them into a subdir like $YEAR/$MONTH/$DATE.

Hmm this won't be easy because the webserver user no read access to any
logfile (for a good reason!). Such a feature won't be trivial to implement
IMHO.
