In the meantime I've done a lot of research about the interoperability
between Kronolith and Outlook/Kolab XML. We've created a list of issues which 
need to be improved in Kronolith and contracted a core Horde developer.

As for the caching code, I'll try to publish the current state tomorrow
so you can have a look at the engine. My next step is to port it to the HEAD 
version of Horde and perhaps integrate it with your share driver patch.
