I'm building kolab-2.2beta1 on FC6 and centos-4.1
I tested kolab-2.2beta1 on centos 5 and Fedora 7 and got failure.
I tested native FC7 imapd-2.3.8 with success

Most of these machine are Xen or VMware machines
