This problem was reported for Kolab 2.1 development snapshot 20060206, but    
could also be reproduced on 2.0.3.   
   
If you create a user, its uid is build from the users email per default. If you   
create a users whose uid is identical to the localpart of an email of some  
already existing user, they both can not login to the imap server anymore. But  
they can still login to the webinterface.   
  
To make it clear heres what i did:  
1. create an user1 with "user1 at example.com" mail address. His uid will be  
user1 at example.com per default.  
2. create an user2 with "user2 at example.com" mail address, but now set uid to  
"user1".  
3. Login to imap does not work for both users now.
