[Kolab-devel] Horde Webclient for Kolab/Gentoo

Hi!

I added experimental package definitions for the complete horde
webclient installation to my overlay
(http://projects.gunnarwrobel.de/kolab/wiki).

On Gentoo you should now be able to run

emerge horde-kolab-all

to get all packages installed. The configuration for horde is
automatic but you need to create and configure a mysql database. The
necessary instructions will be given while installing the software.

Please note that the packages are still experimental and contain
several very ugly hacks. I tried to fix some of the most obvious bugs
that were present when using Horde together with Kolab. With these
fixes Horde should not complain any longer when you log in with your
uid instead of the email address. In addition shares should work most
of the time. Some of the patches still need some work before they can
be submitted upstream, some will never make it. Nevertheless you
should be able to get a full groupware server with a webmail on Gentoo
now.
