Try this:

Add virtual_alias_maps that points to virtual_maps.

Run kolabconf and verify all is working.

After that remove virtual_alias_maps and verify aliases are still working.

When I run into that problem I remember that postconf doesn't show 
virtual_alias_maps till I add it manually.

I think this is a postfix problem. If you search your logs Postifix says 
the lookup table are not owned by root.
