so this should be considered as bug, because in LDAP there is (e.g.): 
 
sn: Gungl 
givenName: Andreas 
mail: Andreas.Gungl at osp-dd.de 
cn: gungl at osp-dd.de 
 
I don't argue against setting cn = givenName + " " + sn when inserting 
data via the web frontend. However parsing any data out of cn although 
there is explicitely givenName should be fixed. 
It's not logical (and unfortunatly it breaks when importing data with 
people having the same name but different mail address as explained in my 
last post).
