that's how it's done already!  Almost all config files are generated
from the ones in /kolab/etc/kolab/templates/.  None of the files there
contain the ldap port number, for instance.  All files that need to have
the URI of the ldap server refer to it with @@@ldap_uri@@@.  kolabconf
replaces these placeholders with the real values taken from
kolab.globals and kolab.conf.
