[Kolab-devel] Kolab2 Distribution lists using alias_maps instead of virtual_maps

Surely Steffen is on this list?

We have stumbled across another "fun" problem.
a) Where best to expand the distribution lists
b) How to define the LDAP logic so that only recipients get expanded and the
rest of the distribution list gets expanded on a "bridgehead" server.

The problem is basically as follows:

A user sends a 2Mb email to a distribution list with 300 recipients of which
only 100 users are on the local server. The net effect is that 200 * 2Mb
messages get sent across a WAN link of some sort.
The ideal situation would be to deliver the local messages as usual then to
send one message to a central server/gateway server to intelligently expand
the distribution list on the correct server.

Still rolling this problem over in my mind, any thoughts or suggestions from
anyone else?
