Quite some effort is put into integrating kolab into other distributions,
what you see can at:

followup
patch announced at
http://kolab.org/pipermail/kolab-devel/2005-May/003626.html
The latter patch is still under review by Steffen. Hopefully Steffen can
accept the patch.

Most of the integration effort is being stored at:

Perhaps you can make a reference to those scripts on that page as well
(after
they have been updated to work with kolab2).
