New submission from Bernhard Herzog <bh at intevation.de>:
If an ldap lookup fails in kolab_smtpdpolicy because ldap server can't be
contacted it returns "REJECT Invalid sender". At the very least the message
should say something about the failed ldap lookup, so that it's clear from the
postfix log that it is a problem with the server. Currently this can't be
determine without the -v switch of kolab_smtpdpolicy.
Also, should the mail be rejected in the first place, if the ldap query fails
because of a server problem? In that case the validity of the sender can't be
established.
