Did you try

# /kolab/bin/openpkg rpm --rebuild perl-5.8.5-2.2.0.src.rpm

This is a known issue addressed in the Beta 1 packages.

Your perl problem is really strange as Fedora2 is supposed to be a supported 
platform of OpenPKG.
