In Outlook+toltec, create a new contact with birthday e.g. 1979-11-20 in the
default contact folder.  Give anther user read access to that folder.  This
other user accesses that folder with Kontact and sees the birthday as
1979-11-19, i.e. one day earlier.  The date shown by Kontact is the date in the
kolab-xml part of the mail in the contact folder, so it was already wrong when
the mail was created by the toltec connector.
