To me it looks like there are already heaps of PEAR packages in the
framework dir in CVS, so installing one in a different way than the
others is no good solution either.

If a new release if Net_IMAP is made, I'll be happy to import that into
CVS.

I _do_ agree with you that it is not really nice. The proper solution
would be to build an rpm from each PEAR package we use, but I don't
have time for that. Volunteers are welcome though :-)
