Wenn I send a mail with 8bit characters (german umlauts), the vacation reply has
these stripped from the subject, e.g.:

Subject: foo äöü bar
gives the reply:
Subject: [thomas.arendsen.hein at neso.hq: Re: foo  bar

Umlauts in the body have a valid utf-8 encoding.
