New submission from Bo Thorsen <bo at klaralvdalens-datakonsult.se>:

If you make a new folder and set it to non-mail contents, you get debug output
like this:

kmail: folderContentsTypeChanged( subcontacts, 2)
kmail:
registering /work/test-home/kde3/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap/.231051914.directory/.INBOX.directory/.Contacts.directory/subcontacts
as extra folder
kmail: folderContentsTypeChanged( subcontacts, 0)
kmail: ERROR: No folder
( Contact, /work/test-home/kde3/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap/.231051914.directory/.INBOX.directory/.Contacts.directory/subcontacts )
kmail:
KMailICalIfaceImpl::incidencesKolab( application/x-vnd.kolab.contact, /work/test-home/kde3/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap/.231051914.directory/.INBOX.directory/.Contacts.directory/subcontacts )
kmail: ERROR:
incidencesKolab(/work/test-home/kde3/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap/.231051914.directory/.INBOX.directory/.Contacts.directory/subcontacts) :
Not an IMAP resource folder

This was after making a subfolder of Contacts with the name subcontacts and
setting the contents to be contacts.

Opening the properties on the folder right after creation also shows that it
contains mail.

I then set it hold contacts again, and from now on it will stay contacts.
