That sounds pretty nice to me. Are those options just examples, or do
you really mean that some host wouldn't know it's own hostname? :-)

I think that it's good if you would read this article before deciding to
use autoconf, then make your decision. I'm not for or against it, just
think that there are some things to consider in advance.
