Absolutely. It is just a IMAP connection. This means that you
can have a portal machine in a DMZ with TLS(or normal) IMAP 
connections connecting into your organization from the DMZ. 

In the logon screen you might have noticed that the server selection
is a drop-down menu. You can have a list of IMAP servers there.
