Are you sure you can't use Kolab ?<br>
I have exactly the same message and it seems to me that it means
"proftpd can't correctly instanciate"...not Kolab.<br>
As far as I am concerned, proftpd is not absolutely necessary to run a
Kolab server. (and I don't know exactly whatfor it is usefull ;o))<br>
A search in Google (<font face="Arial" size="2">LDAPHomedirOnDemand) </font>brought
me a beginning of answer...but just curiosity for this moment.<br>

reinstaling kolab and recovering email structure by cyrreconstruct
