Ubuntu 14.04 web admin internal system error

Hi,
I'm trying out kolab in ubuntu 14.04.  However I'm finding things not
working and the ldap directory service doesn't appear to be running.
Starting it manually I run into this:

# /etc/init.d/dirsrv start
 * no dirsrv instances configured so not starting 389 DS

Has anyone experienced this?
