Yes, I am quite happy with LXC containers.
I use Ubuntu 14.04 as the base OS, and then my own scripts to create the 
containers:
https://github.com/tpokorra/lxc-scripts

This helps to test various versions of Kolab with different Operating 
Systems, all on one machine.
