Issues upgrading from 3.1 -> 3.4

Henning, 

 Thank you for the response. It did turn out to be a permission issue
but with /var/lib/imap rather than with /var/spool/imap. 

 I had also looked at several sync tools but they all seemed to required
logging into each individual account as the account owner which isn't
practical in a secure environment. 

 But, it turns out to be very easy to do it manually front the OS level.
