It should be possible, yes. Although Lightning claims to support CalDAV
scheduling, I wasn't able to get it working through that. Observing the
HTTP requests Thunderbird sends to the CalDAV server, there was no
indication it even attempted to find the scheduling outbox and to query
it upon opening the attendees dialog. So I gave up on that one.

But there's a nifty add-on to Lightning which adds free/buy data
fetching via HTTP based on simple rules:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/freebusy/

With the kolab-freebusyd enabled, that's exactly what should be used
with Kolab. Once the add-on is installed, you can specify URL patterns
to be used for free/busy lookups. For Kolab that may look something like:

  When contact email matches [ *@yourdomain.org ]
  FB URL is [ https://kolab-server/freebusy/*@yourdomain.org.ifb ]

Works nicely for me.

Kind regards,
Thomas
