hide/disable non-Mail folders in imap-clients?

kontact/kmail can use local subscriptions like server subscriptions.
and btw. it's a kolab client and hides those non-mail-folders
automatically.

but for other mailers I ran into the same problem, i.e. with claws-mail
or modest (N900).
