Fail to login with uid

Hi,

I can remember that prior to 3.1 the login with the uid of a user was 
successful [1]. Now I get the following error from userlogins:

Login failure for user huegelc from 10.10.10.1 in session 
ilvdbmi4q9rv4tc6cpe9dj1032 (error No user record found)
