Has there been any progress on this issue? I can also confirm this.

A little digging into the Z-Push debug.txt file leads me to think the 
following:
- "GetMessageList" on the email folder is rather quick (~80 emails in folder, 
takes about 0.6s on average), but "GetMessageList" on the contacts and 
calendar takes rather long (213 calendar entries, ~9s average, 54 contacts, 
~7s average)
- While email is only checked per my phone settings (currently at "Every 5 
minutes"), I get entries in the debug.txt file about "GetMessageList" on 
contacts and calendar every 10 seconds. Notably, the phone is NOT initiating 
those. Here's an excerpt from the logfile:
