Most important: Make a full backup. Second: Follow the instructions in 
1st.README. Over the weekend we figured out that they are not complete, the 
LDAP conversion breaks distribution groupsl

For a producion system I strongly advice you to wait for 2.3.1 next week.

I guess the folder type was reset to a normal email folder rather than one 
containing contacts. You can fix this in Kontact by unhiding the Groupware 
folders in the preferences and then right click on the folder -> Properties -> 
Folder contains: Contacts.
