SyncML

Hello,

the installation of syncphony was also my first contact with jboss. I
downloaded jboss server from the link you mentioned below, following the
installation guide from syncphony.
Jboss worked rather "out of the box", just install with the installation
script and everything is set up fine. I did upgrade the jbossws component to
jbossws-native-3.1.2.GA as recommended in the installation guide - also very
easy, I think it was just an installation script.
Personally I found the ldap-settings the most difficult part, it is required
to add a "synchronization_group" setting and to enter all different DNs
correctly into several setup files. For me it seemed to be important that
both funambol and jboss use the same java installation. Funambol comes
bundled with its one java library, you can force it to use the system library
by setting JAVA_HOME environment variable, which is also used by the jboss
server.
JBoss generates huge log files with the default settings, after several
synchronization experiments, I ran out of disk space due to abount 2.5 GB of
logs. Reducing the log level is certainly a good idea.

Best regards
Heiner Markert
