the pure mail part (IMP) was always fine with the Kolab server. It is
just an IMAP client.

The basic stuff really works. I'd still be a bit cautious about really
large installation but if you install it on an external web server you
should be fine.

Current issues in Horde mainly concern some minor bits and pieces of
functionality that are still
missing. http://wiki.kolab.org/index.php/Horde_development gives some
information but I'd need to update it.
