Did you look if sieve is up and running ?
# netstat -a  -p | grep sieve
tcp        0      0 *:sieve                     *:*
     LISTEN      28460/cyrmaster
tcp        0      0 *:sieve                     *:*
     LISTEN      28460/cyrmaster

Did you googled about your error message.
