No, not routing X. That is indeed too slow and having X installed on a
kolab server would not make much sense anyhow.

I think it should be possible to use port forwarding with ssh in order
to route openvpn through ssh. Through openvpn you connect the network
behind the proxy to your own network. There should be plenty of
tutorials for openvpn on the net. I guess there are also other vpn
solutions that should work equally well.
