Thanks very much for this.

Umm, I think this wiki is correct, I will keep it in mind, however I think 
there were still Ubuntu specific things like bash instead of dash and perhaps 
linking of gcc to the older gcc which made things work as well.

When I install again, I will check the wiki and update if needed :)
