LDAP error with thunderbird autocomplete (beta 5)

Hello all
I am experiencing problems with thunderbird's LDAP autocomplete. Before the 
upgrade to beta5 (beta4), someone could type the first 3 or so letters of a 
contact, and thunderbird would autocomplete from LDAP. This is no longer 
working, and I get and error:
Error code 81: Can't contact the LDAP server

When I open addressbook, select the directory entry for the kolab server and 
search, I get results, so there is maybe a difference in how it looks up. I 
know this seems like more of a thunderbird issue, but if anyone has had the 
same problems, or if anyone can think of how the changes in beta5 may break 
it, please help!
