Probleme mit kolab-webadmin und chwala

hallo zusammen

folgendes setup:
- dedicated root server mit dem aktuellsten debian wheezy 7.7
- nginx 1.6.2, aktuellstes php5-fpm [PHP 5.4.35-0+deb7u2 (fpm-fcgi)
(built: Nov 19 2014 07:57:58)], mysql (5.5.40-0+wheezy1)

ich habe das kolab-nginx-setup ("complex installation") befolgt
(http://docs.kolab.org/howtos/nginx-webserver.html) mit ein paar kleinen
anpassungen, da es für eine ältere nginx-version geschrieben ist. nach
langem herumbasteln lief dann auch das php5-fpm. die
php-funktionstüchtigkeit der einzelnen server-"locations" habe ich
mittels einer phpinfo() verzifizieren können.

/roundcubemail läuft im root-verzeichnis der subdomain mail.kokos.io
scheinbar problemlos. allerdings noch ohne logindaten, weil der
kolab-webadmin unter mail.kokos.io/kolab-webadmin nicht so will, wie
ich. die error logs vom nginx weisen bei einem zugriff auf diese URI
folgendes auf...
